Privacy policy

How Alderwick Technologies handles personal information collected through this website.

Draft for legal review. Not yet in force. This policy is a working draft prepared before launch. It must be reviewed by a qualified lawyer (UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018, and U.S. state privacy laws for U.S. visitors) and updated once the hosting provider, form handling, email provider and chatbot backend are chosen. Items marked [to confirm] need the owner’s input.

Who we are

This website is operated by Alderwick Technologies, a company registered in England and Wales (company number[to confirm]), registered office [to confirm]. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy. ICO registration number: [to confirm].

What we collect

When you send an inquiry

If you use the inquiry form or email us, we collect the details you provide: your name, business name, email address, sector and message. We use them to reply to you and, if you ask, to prepare a proposal. Inquiries sent through the website are delivered to our inbox using Resend, our email delivery provider, and our email is hosted by Google.

When you use the “Ask Alderwick” assistant

The assistant is an automated chatbot, not a person. Its replies are scripted and run in your browser. What you type in the chat isn’t sent to us unless you choose to leave your details: your name, email address and what you’d like help with are then sent to our team in the same way as an inquiry form. Please don’t share sensitive information in the chat.

Technical information

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may record basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We use Cloudflare Turnstile to protect the inquiry form and chatbot from spam, which may process technical information about your browser and connection.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not set cookies and does not use advertising or tracking tools. If we add privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics in future, we will update this policy.

Why we use your information (legal basis)

  • To respond to your inquiry and take steps at your request before entering into a contract.
  • Our legitimate interests in running and securing our website and business.
  • To comply with legal obligations, for example keeping business records.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website and our business, such as our hosting provider ([to confirm]), email provider ([to confirm]) and, once connected, our chatbot AI provider ([to confirm]). They may only use it to provide their services to us.

International transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom and work with businesses in the United States and the United Kingdom. Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework [to confirm].

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry details for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and no longer than [to confirm] if no business relationship follows. Client records are kept as long as required for legal and accounting purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. To make a request, email[email protected]. If you are in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Visitors in the United States

Residents of some U.S. states, including California, may have additional rights under state privacy laws, such as the right to know what personal information we collect and to request its deletion. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. [to confirm]: confirm with counsel which state laws apply.

Children

This website is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the UK).
